Welcoming a New Chapter

The saying "Maturity comes with experience" speaks truth as memories start to become indelible, and the knowledge we accumulate from past experiences help us develop into the individuals we are today. As students, mistakes are inevitable as we face obstacles on a daily basis to achieve career-related goals. I, myself, have made my fair share of mistakes.

Laying in bed at 1:43 AM staring at the dark ceiling before me and having "I should have done-" or "If I only knew-" thoughts are overwhemingly familiar. It's sometimes difficult to fathom that the fate of your future strictly depends on how well you can overcome the next few obstacles.

Perspectives and priorities also change as maturity makes its mark. Things that used to make us cry and worry might not seem so important anymore. Even things that used to make us laugh and brought us so much joy, might not have the same effects on this new persona that we've come to accept as who we are.

Now that I am in my 20s, I have come to realize that vanity means nothing since the only things that should matter are ; how you perceive yourself and if you are content with the person you have become, health,  and unconditional love from those who have supported you and made a huge impact in your life for the better.

Unconditional love is an interesting topic since so many individuals crave and would kill for sincere, genuine affection. I am lucky to have this support as it helps me strengthen the faith I have in myself while I am about to welcome a new chapter into my life. As another page is turned, unconditional love will help fuel the drive in me to complete what I have started.

By taking everything I have leaned in the past, all the "could've", "should've", "would've" thoughts are still going to be with me, as knowledge continues to accumulate and my wisdom grows parallel to it. The past can only be a reference to new choices in the future as I continue to write my story.
